This Avon 225/65 VR 15 CR6ZZ is an exceptional road race tyre, and like the rest of the Avon CR6ZZ range of tyres has a carcass that is developed to compliment the chassis of a classic car. However it is worth noting that any tyre of the size 225/65 VR 15 should not be fitted with inner tubes, and as a result should not be fitted to wire wheels. Although there are wire wheels that claim to be suited to being used tubeless we have seen too many failures to trust them. We do not suggest fitting this 225/65 VR 15 Avon CR6ZZ with inner tubes.
The tyre size 225/65 VR 15 is predominantly associated with the luxury saloon Jaguar Daimler XJ40. The original equipment tyre on Jaguar XJ40 was 225/65 VR 15 Pirelli P5. The Pirelli P5 tyre developed by Jaguar and Pirelli together specially for these classic luxury saloons. Some Jaguar XJ40 fitted 390mm wheels for which we have 220/65R390 Avon CR39. Though the 225/65 VR 15 Avon CR6ZZ is a great tyre it is not really suited to an XJ40.

I've used this style Avon for many years on my E-type ,great wet weather tyre,NO road noise ,they look the part and are perfect for fast road driving .
