Peugeot 172 1923–1924
- For the Peugeot 172, otherwise known as the Peugeot Quadrilette, Longstone recommends fixing a set of 12 x 45 Michelin DR tyres.
- The recommended innertube for a tyre of this size is the Michelin 18" C RET Central Valve innertube, or the Michelin 18/19CD RET Offset Valve innertube, depending on your wheel type (innertubes are compulsory for these wheels).
History of the Peugeot 172
Changes to the Quadrilette in 1923 resulted in the Type 172, which debuted in 1924. The track was extended so that two seats could be placed next to each other, increasing comfort and space. Despite the shorter wheelbase, there was a greater baggage room because there was only one row of seats. The engine remained unchanged, and the weight was maintained to a minimum. Upgraded variants of the Type 172, such as the Type 172 BC and Type 172 BS, sometimes known as the Quadrilette Grand Sport, were also introduced in 1924 and had a larger 720 cc side-valve engine with slightly greater power.
