Ferrari 308 GTS Tyres

  • The first 308 GTS Ferrari wore 205/70VR14 Michelin XWX tyres. These were the highest spec tyres of the period.
  • Suggested Ferrari 308GTS tyre pressures for 14” tyres - 28psi front and 35psi rear.
  • You could also fit 205/70 WR 14 PIRELLI CINTURATO CN36 which also offers excellent performance.

  • Although the Ferrari 308 isn't exactly from the era when Ferrari used to give their cars wire wheels, the option is there for those who desire the classic style. For Borrani Wire Wheels, see below.
  • The GTS was released on tubeless wheels, but if you want innertubes for the above tyres then the Michelin 14F will be the best option. If you have wire wheels then innertubes must be fitted.
  • Later evolutions of the 308 GTS fitted 220/55 WR 390 Michelin TRX. You may have these 390mm wheels, in which case you must fit TRX tyres.
  • Later Ferrari also offered 16” wheels, in which case 205/55YR16 PIRELLI CINTURATO P7 (33psi) & on the rear 225/50 YR 16 PIRELLI CINTURATO P7 (33psi).
  • See our Ferrari 308 GTS Service Bulletin below to see Ferrari's recommended tyres and tyre pressures.

History of the Ferrari 308 GTS

The Targa-topped 308 GTS was unveiled at the 1977 Frankfurt Motor Show. All GTS's had a wet sump engine and a steel body. Until 1981, European GTB vehicles used dry-sump lubrication.

Ferrari 308 GTS Borrani Wire Wheels

The Ferrari 308 GTS can fit Borrani alloy-rimmed wire wheels, despite it not really being a period wheel due to Ferrari not fitting wire wheels to their cars at this point, however fitting these wheels still gives a cool retro look.

If your Borrani wheels require rebuilding then please contact us at [email protected]

Wheels made by Ruote Borrani Milano are, without doubt, the best wire wheels available. Borrani wheels utilise aluminium rims, steel spokes and steel wheel centres.

Wheels made by Borrani are available in the following styles:

  • Painted silver finish, as per the racing wheels of the period
  • Polished and chrome finish, highly polished rim, chrome spokes & wheel centre
  • Painted finish with polished outer edge
