Alvis TE21 tyres for a standard car as recommended by Longstone Tyres. Longstone classic tyres recommend the 185x15 PIRELLI CINTURATO &tradefor your classic Alvis TE21

Longstone classic Tyres recommend the classic 185x15 PIRELLI CINTURATO &tradeas they are a genuine period Radial tyre. The fitment of a radial tyre will improve the directional stability and be more sure-footed on the road. This will diminish the wandering effect, which is what we need on todays more modern faster roads with higher cruising speeds than in period. Fitting the 185x15 PIRELLI CINTURATO &trade, a genuine period radial of the correct diameter, will do all the above and also keep the steering lighter than other radial tyres in this size, making it an easy choice when buying new boots for your classic Alvis.

Classic Alvis TE21

The body was a modified version of the TC108G styled by Graber of Switzerland and built by Park Ward and distinguished by having twin headlights mounted one above the other. Saloon and drophead versions were available. The design was noted for its lack of bright side trim or creases moulded into the body parts. The windscreen was one-piece, curved, and not too highly sloped.

The 2993 cc engine, first used in the classic Alvis 1950 TA21, received a modified cylinder head and manifold which increased power to 130 bhp. A choice of automatic or five speed gearbox made by ZF was available. Suspension was independent at the front using coil springs, with leaf springs at the rear. Disc brakes were fitted to all wheels.

Recirculating-ball-type steering gear was fitted to reduce effort and power steering became optional in late 1964.

Although the car was replaced by the classic Alvis TF21 in 1966, the TE21 was still available to special order until 1967.
