Honda Civic Tyres

  • For a classic Honda Civic (1st generation) a set of 155TR12 Nankang is recommended by Longstone Tyres.
  • The best fitting innertube for this tyre is the Michelin 12D innertube.
  • The 1st generation Civic was first released on tube-type wheels that require innertubes. Our period Innertube Guides inform which models transitioned to tubeless wheels, and when. See below to find the model and year of your Civic.
  • Subsequent generations had different tyre fitments. If you are looking for tyres for a later generation Civic, call us on +44 (0) 1302 711123 and one of our tyre boffins will help you find the right rubber!

History of the Honda Civic

Built between 1972-1979, the first-generation Honda Civic was a subcompact car that came equipped with a four-cylinder 1,169 cc water-cooled engine and had front-powered disc brakes. It was notable for being able to use both leaded and unleaded fuel during the 1970s oil crisis, making it a popular model due to this flexibility. The Honda Civic is today in its eleventh generation, and is the 6th best-selling car of all time, exceeding 18 million chassis sold since the early 70s.
