Lancia Fulvia Sport Zagato 1965–1972

While researching tyres for the Zagato model of the Lancia Fulvia it became apparent to us that a 6” Cromodora wheel often does not fit in the wheel arch. However we believe the 5.5” ones do, on most cars. We must remember that these are Zagato cars and somewhat bespoke so what fits on one car will not necessarily fit on another.

Our period Fitment Guides suggest that some Fulvia Sport models were released on tube-type wheels, but some were released on tubeless wheels. See below to find your model and year, or have a look at our handy Innertube Page for more information.

History of the Lancia Fulvia Sport Zagato

The Fulvia Sport was a fastback two-seater based on Coupé mechanicals, designed by Ercole Spada and constructed for Lancia by Zagato. Lancia commissioned Zagato to create the Sport as a more aerodynamic and sportier version of the coupé that could be utilised in both road and track contests. The original Sport, shown at the Turin Motor Show in 1965, featured an all-aluminium alloy bodyshell and utilised the coupé's 1.2-litre engine. Inside, it carried over the coupé's wood-trimmed dashboard and had two tiny bucket seats designed by Zagato. There were only 202 manufactured in all.

At the 1970 Turin Motor Show, the second series Fulvia Sport was introduced. A 5-speed transmission, updated suspension geometry, a higher ride height, an alternator in place of the old dynamo, a taller final drive compared to coupés, and larger tyres were among the changes. The body was now made entirely of steel and could accommodate 2+2 persons. Some of the Zagato's most distinctive characteristics were dropped: the bonnet was now hinged at the front, and the spare wheel compartment opening was no longer used.
