Reliant Sabre Tyres

  • Longstone recommends fitting a set of 165-15 Michelin XAS for a Reliant Sabre Six.
  • We suggest fitting the 155 HR 15 PIRELLI CINTURATO CA67 for a Reliant Sabre Four.
  • The Sabre fitted either standard tube-type wheels or wire wheels throughout its production run. Innertubes are required for these wheels, even if you fit tubeless radial tyres.
  • For both of these tyres the Michelin 15E is the ideal innertube.

History of the Reliant Sabre

Built between 1961-1964, the Reliant Sabre was a two-door convertible, front-engined, rear-drive car. The bodyshell was based upon the Ashley 1172, and 208 cars would be made on this. Later on in 1962 a large engined Sabre was introduced called the Sabre Six, of which there would be 77 produced with just 2 of these Sabre Sixes being convertibles (the rest were coupes).
