1980 Volvo 264 TE
Volvo 260 1983–1985
Here is what Longstone Tyres recommends based on your Volvo 240 tyre needs:
- Longstone recommends fitting the 175 HR 14 Michelin XAS for a Volvo 264, with its asymmetric tread pattern the XAS will make the Volvo more sure footed.
- These tyres would best fit a Michelin 14E innertube.
- We suggest fitting a set of 185 HR 14 Michelin MXV-P tyres for a Volvo 265 Estate; the very best tyre a chap can buy in this size, built by one of the leading manufacturers.
- For these tyres the Michelin 14F is the ideal innertube.
- Our period fitment guides state that cars in the 260 series fitted tubeless wheels by 1977. Given that most Volvo cars were tubeless in this era we would suspect 1974-76 models to have tubeless wheels also, but we do not have fitment data to confirm this.
- If you own a 1974-76 260 series with OE tubeless wheels please get in contact so we can update our information.
History of the Volvo 260
Built between 1974-1993 the Volvo 200 series were a range of large family cars that replaced the Volvo 140 & Volvo 164. Initially the Volvo 240 was only available in six variations (242L, 242DL, 244DL, 244GL, 245L & 245DL) and the Volvo 260 in two (264DL & 264GL). The 240 either came as a sedan or station weekend, and the 260 was available as a coupe (262C Bertone), sedan or station wagon.
