Renault Nervasport Tyres
- For an iconic performance car such as the Renault Nervasport a top quality cross ply tyre is required. We would suggest fitting the 15/16 x 45 Michelin DR.
- The recommended tube for a tyre of this size is the Michelin 18" C RET Central Valve innertube, or the Michelin 18/19CD RET Offset Valve innertube, depending on your wheel type.
- The 150/160 x 40 Michelin SCSS could also be fitted to the Nervasport.
- The ideal tube for this tyre is the Michelin 16F. The Nervasport fitted tube-type wheels, innertubes are required for the wheels to function.
History of the Renault Nervasport
The Renault Nervasport was a straight-eight engined sports luxury vehicle made by Renault from March 1932 until 1935. Its design was inspired by the bigger and heavier Nervastella. The Nervasport was superseded in 1935 by a more streamlined variant named the Nerva Grand Sport, which remained in production until the summer of 1937. As with many Renaults in the 1930s, type modifications, as well as minor aesthetic facelifts and enhancements, were common.
The first 'TG 5' Nervasport debuted in March 1932. It featured a 4241 cc flathead inline-eight engine powered it. It was noticeably quicker than the Nervastella while weighing 160 kg less. It has a 3,130 mm wheelbase and is taxed as a 24CV in France. This initial model is distinguished by a straight one-piece front bumper, five evenly sized vent flaps on the bonnet sides, and a rather upright grille. The automobile was regarded as robust, swift, and safe, despite the fact that it had mechanical brakes. Unlike the Nervastella, the initial Nervasport had a three-speed transmission rather than a four-speed transmission. Only the top two gears on the Nervastella had synchro.
