Mazda RX 7 Tyres

  • For (Early 80's) Mazda RX-7 tyres a set of 185/70 R 13 Michelin XDX is recommended by Longstone Tyres.
  • 1978-1980 models may have fitted tube-type wheels (if you own one please get in touch).
  • Our earliest fitment guide for the RX-7 (1980) states that it was fitted with tubeless wheels. Innertubes are not required for these wheels to function.
  • One might still fit innertubes to tubeless wheels; perhaps if you fit tube-type tyres, suffer a puncture, or are not confident your rims are airtight.
  • For these tyres the Michelin 13E is the correct innertube.
  • The RX-7 also has a history as a group B rally car, though it was never lucky enough to compete in any races. Nevertheless, if you have a rally RX-7 then tyres from the PIRELLI P7 CORSA â„¢ Classic range could be fitted.
  • An RX-7 between 1988 and 1992 is likely to be fitted with 205/60 R15 tyres. In this size we would recommend the 205/60 WR 15 Michelin Pilot Primacy 3.
  • Tyres with a profile below 70% (e.g 205/60 WR 15 Michelin Pilot Primacy 3) should not fit innertubes.
  • Post-1990 models of the RX-7 fitted a range of different-sized wheels, so recommending a tyre is not as straightforward. Give us a call on +44 (0) 1302 711 123 and one of our team can help find the right tyre for you.
