Bentley 8 Litre Tyres

  • The 8 Litre Bentley originally fitted a 700 - 21 vintage cross-ply tyre, but we would suggest the 7.00 x 21 Michelin D.R as the best option.
  • Of the tyres available for 8 Litre Bentley's the 7.00 x 21 Michelin D.R. gives exceptional grip and comfort. Though when Bentley won the Lé Mans they fitted the 7.00 x 21 Dunlop F4, which unfortunately is no longer produced.
  • For these tyres the Michelin 19/20H inner tube offers the best fit.

History of the Bentley 8 Litre

The Bentley 8 Litre was a huge inline-6 cylinder super-luxury automobile produced by Bentley in a range of configurations. It was the company's final new model before its financial collapse and sale to Rolls-Royce. The 8 Litre was constructed on Bentley's biggest rolling chassis, a ladder frame with massive tubular steel cross-members downswept from the front and rear axles towards the centre, reducing the centre of gravity. Only 100 of these cars were built, with 35 having the shorter wheelbase and 65 having the extended wheelbase. Only around 25 were equipped with open bodies. It is speculated that the cost of developing the automobile was one of the main reasons behind Bentley Motors' bankruptcy.
