First ever Volvo 144
Volvo 140 1966–1974
- The Volvo 140 fitted 165-15 Tyres.
- Longstone's recommendation for the Volvo 140 is a set of 165 SR 15 Michelin XZX. The Michelin XZX is the perfect tyre for the Volvo 140 and is currently at a bargain price.
- If you wanted a more sporty tyre then the 165 HR 15 PIRELLI CINTURATO CA67 would be a great option.
- Our period Innertube Guides suggest that all 140 variants were tubeless by 1972, unfortunately we don't have reliable fitment data preceding this date. If you have a 140 produced before 1972 and know your wheel type, please get in contact so that we can provide the most accurate information.
- For these tyres the Michelin 15E is the correct innertube.
History of the Volvo 140
Built between 1966-1974 the Volvo 140 series was a range of cars that included the Volvo 142 2-door sedan, the Volvo 144 4-door sedan and the Volvo 145 5-door station wagon/estate (also known as the Volvo 145 Express). At first only the Volvo 144 was produced, being the first Volvo to start using the tri-digit nomenclature that Volvo would use across all its ranges. Replacing the Volvo Amazon, the styling of the Volvo 140 series would live on in some way or the other until the 1990s in the Volvo 200 series that would succeed it.
