Vauxhall Velox 1948–1965
- The early 1948-1949 Velox fitted 500/525 - 16 Tyres. In this size we suggest the 5.00/5.25 x 16 Avon Tourist.
- The ideal tube for these tyres is the Michelin 16E innertube.
- In 1950 Vauxhall swapped to 590 - 15 Tyres. We recommend fitting the 590 H 15 Avon Turbospeed, or if you would prefer a modern radial tyre then the 180 HR 15 Michelin XAS is the best choice.
- For these tyres we suggest fitting the Michelin 15E innertube.
- some later models fitted a 590-14 tyre. There are currently no cross plys in this size, we suggest fitting the 165 HR 14 PIRELLI CINTURATO CA67.
- For these tyres Longstone offers the Michelin 14D innertube.
- The Velox Cresta PC Estate fitted a 7.00-14 tyre. The modern expression of this size is 185R14, we suggest fitting the 185 HR 14 Michelin MXV-P.
- For these tyres we suggest the Michelin 14F innertube.
- Period fitment guides suggest that all Velox cars were fitted with tube-type wheels. Innertubes are required for these wheels, even if you fit tubeless radial tyres.

1960-1962 Vauxhall Velox Sedan
History of the Vauxhall Velox
Built between 1948-1965 the Vauxhall Velox was initially a medium sized six-cylinder saloon that by the end of its life had evolved to a large family car that aped the popular US styling of the time. There would be several different versions of the Vauxhall Velox over its lifetime; with the Vauxhall Velox LIP (1948-1951), Vauxhall Velox EIP/EIPV (1951-1957), Vauxhall Velox PA S/PA SY (1957-1960), Vauxhall Velox PA SX (1960-1962) & the Vauxhall Velox PB (1962-1965).
