Renault Prima 4 Tyres

1932 Renault Primaquatre Type KZ 10 Limousine

1932 Renault Primaquatre Type KZ 10 Limousine

  • The Prima 4, or Prima Quatre originally fitted crossply 12 - 45 Tyres. The best available crossply tyre is the 11/12 x 45 Waymaster Thirty.
  • Many people prefer to fit a radial tyre. In this case our recommended tyre for the Prima 4 is the 12 x 45 Michelin DR.
  • We would suggest a radial over a crossply; good radials will typically have a higher speed rating, and radials are designed to be driven on modern roads, unlike crossply tyres.
  • The Primaquatre fitted tube-type wheels, innertubes are required for these wheels, even if you fit a radial tyre.
  • The correct innertube for tyres of this size is the Michelin 18" C RET Central Valve innertube, or the Michelin 18/19CD RET Offset Valve innertube, depending on your wheel type.

History of the Renault Primaquatre

The Renault Primaquatre is a car manufactured by Renault from 1931 to 1941, and it was the final car created before Louis Renault's death in 1944. The Primaquatre debuted on December 29, 1930, as the Type KZ6, a development of the KZ series. Its 4-cylinder engine had a capacity of 2120 cc and a maximum output of 35 horsepower at 2900 rpm. The reported top speed was 62 miles per hour. An unsynchronized 3-speed manual gearbox drove the rear wheels.
