Morris Marina 1800 TC
Morris Marina 1971–1980
- The first MK1 Morris Marina fitted 5.20 - 13 Dunlop Crossply tyres onto a 4.5” wide rim. The Dunlop is no longer made, the only tyre available in this size is the 5.20 x 13 Camac, a budget tyre that we would not recommend, we suggest a set of radial tyres.
- 145-13 Tyres is the radial equivalent to 5.20-13 crossply.
- The 145HR13 PIRELLI CINTURATO CA67, is the best tyre for these cars now, as it was back in period, and is Longstone's top recommendation.
- In 1974, the Morris 1.8 Litre Marina TC were fitted with 155 HR 13 Dunlop SP Sport Aquajet, or the 155 SR 13 Michelin XZX which is sadly no longer produced.
- Today we recommend the 155R13 PIRELLI CINTURATO CA67 or the 155 HR 13 Michelin XAS FF is a fantastic tyre for the MK 2 Marina.
- The Morris Ital, from 1980 to 1984, also fitted the 155 SR 13 Michelin XZX; today, we recommend the 155R13 PIRELLI CINTURATO CA67 or the 155 HR 13 Michelin XAS FF.
- If you desire a wider tyre for a Mk1 Morris Marina we recommend the 155R13 PIRELLI CINTURATO CA67.
- Our period fitment guides suggest that the Marina was released on tube-type wheels throughout its production. Providing that your wheel rims are in good condition, innertubes are optional.
- If you need an innertube we would suggest the Michelin 13D.
- Suggested tyre pressures for these models of the Morris Marina are 26 psi front and 28 psi rear, with more detail here.

Morris Marina Estate Tyres
- For the MK1 Morris Marina Estate, we suggest the 145HR13 PIRELLI CINTURATO CA67 to be the best option.
- The ideal innertube for this tyre is the Michelin 13CG innertube.
- The MK2 Morris Marina Estate and the Ital Estate are best equipped with the 155R13 PIRELLI CINTURATO CA67 or the 155 HR 13 Michelin XAS FF.
- For all models of Morris Marina and Ital Estate cars, we suggest 25 psi front and 32 psi rear.
- The Michelin 13D would be the best-fitting innertube for these tyres.

History of the Morris Marina
Built between 1971-1980 the Morris Marina was one of Britain's most popular cars throughout the '70s, due to clever targeting of company fleet car buyers and average-income families. Though an astonishing 807,000 Marinas were sold in Britain it is estimated that there is less than 1,000 still on the road, being one of the most-scrapped cars in the UK. It suffered as well from poor rust-proofing and being sought after for cheap & easy performance parts upgrades for everything from Morris Minors to Midgets and Sprites.
