The best series 3 Alfa Romeo Spider tyres and series 4 is the 185/70 VR 14 PIRELLI CINTURATO ™ CN36, or on 15” wheels the 195/60 VR 15 Michelin Primacy 3, which is the only classic tyre in the size.

Alfa Romeo S3 Spider 1982–1990

  • By 1983, with the introduction of the Series 3 Spider, Alfa Romeo followed fashion and moved to wider 6” wheels and low profile tyres.
  • The Alfa Romeo Series 3 Spider 2000 fitted 185/70 VR 14 PIRELLI CINTURATO ™ CN36 as OE, and they are by far the best tyre today.
  • For more information about the CN36, look at this back-to-back classic tyre test.
  • By the 1980s, Alfa Romeo had stopped fitting inner tubes. However, if you want to fit a tube in a 185/70R14, the Michelin 14E innertube is the best.
  • The series 3 Alfa Romeo Quadrifoglio Verde model of 1986 fitted 15” wheels fitting 195/60R15 tyres. Like the later series 4 Alfa Spider; for any series 3 Alfa Romeo Spider fitted with 15” Wheels we recommend the Michelin Primacy 3.

Alfa Spider S4 1990–1993

  • The last run of the super little rear wheel drive sports car, the Alfa Romeo Spider series 4 from 1990 to 1993, predominantly fitted 15” wheels for which we recommend the 195/60 VR 15 Michelin Primacy 3.
  • The Michelin Primacy 3 is currently the only tyre with a carcass design suited to cars of this period.
  • If you need 14” Alfa Romeo Series 4 Spider tyres the Cinturato CN36 is still the best option for your chassis geometry.
  • Alfa Romeo Spider 2000 tyres on 15” wheels and 60% profile tyres should not fit innertubes.

History of the Alfa Romeo Spider 2000 S3/S4

The final iterations of the Alfa Romeo Spider made between 1982 and 1993 were once again styled by Pininfarina for this last outing. Externally, it featured smoother bumpers and slimmer rear lights, while internally, it was upgraded with fuel-injected engines and power-assisted steering.
