Cadillac Sixty Special 1938–1976
- From 1938 - 1941, the Sixty Special fitted 7.50 - 16 Crossply tyres. For this size we recommend the 7.50 x 16 Firestone.
- The Michelin 16F is the correct innertube for these tyres.
- From 1942 - 1947, the Sixty Special fitted 7.00 - 15 Crossply tyres. Currently, no classic tyre manufacturers make a tyre in this size.
- From 1948 - 49, the Sixty Special fitted 8.20 - 15 Crossply tyres. The tyre we recommend in this size is the 820 H 15 Avon Turbospeed. If you are after a whitewall tyre the 8.20 x 15 General Whitewall is a great tyre with a large whitewall width that gives the look that many Sixty Special owners desire.
- The Michelin 15/17H is the tube we suggest for this size tyre.
- From 1950 - 1953, the Sixty Special fitted 8.00 - 15 Crossply tyres. Currently, no classic tyre manufacturers make a tyre in this size.
- From 1957 - 1964, the Sixty Special came equipped with either 8.00 - 15 or 8.20 - 15 Crossply tyres.
- From 1965 - 1971 the Sixty Special fitted 9.00 - 15 Crossply tyres. Currently, no classic tyre manufacturers make a tyre in this size.
- From 1971 - 1976 the Sixty Special fitted L78 - 15 tyres, unfortunately, these tyres are not made by any classic tyre manufacturers currently but we do offer 8.20 - 15 tyres as an alternative size that is commonly used on classic luxury saloons.
- As a radial alternative we offer the 235/70 15 Michelin XVS which is a popular radial tyre that is fitted to cars that fit 820-15 and the 235/70x15 Michelin XVS Whitewall offers the thin 20mm whitewall band that is popular on these cars.
- A great budget alternative to the 235/70 R 15 XVS is the 235/70 R 15 Galaxy Whitewall which also offers the 20mm whitewall at a cheaper price.
- We also suggest fitting Michelin 15/17H innertubes to these tyres.

History of the Cadillac Sixty Special
The Cadillac Sixty Special (sometimes referred to as the Fleetwood Sixty Special) started out as a name used to denote the special extended wheelbase version of the Series 60. The Sixty Special was a unique contender within the luxury car market at the time as it was intended to be an owner-driven car instead of a Chauffeur driven car. The wheelbase of the Sixty Special was 3 inches longer than the Series 60 and an X shaped frame was developed to allow the car to sit in it. This meant that the car was 3 inches lower without a sacrifice in headroom and the car had the stiffest chassis on the market. The first generation was powered by Cadillac's standard 130 5.7L V8 engine.
