Ferrari 308 GTBi Tyres
- The Ferrari 308 GTBi originally fitted 220/55 WR 390 Michelin TRX, which are still made by Michelin.
- It is also possible for a early Ferrari 308 GTBi to have 205/70VR14 Michelin XWX fitted.
- If you desire innertubes, the Michelin 14F is the best fitting tube for the 205/70VR14 Michelin XWX. The GTBi was released on tubeless wheels, so innertubes are not required (providing your wheel rims are in good condition).
- It was also an option to fit 16” wheels with 205/55YR16 PIRELLI CINTURATO P7 & 225/50 YR 16 PIRELLI CINTURATO P7.

Ferrari 308GTBi Tyre Pressure
Ferrari introduced the fuel injection system to its 308 GTB cars in 1980, which is shown by the little "i" in their name. By this time Michelin had made an enormous leap forward in tyre technology, developing their new TRX range of tyres, and the 308 GTBi were fitted with the millimetric tyres 220/55VR390 Michelin TRX.
It is also possible for a 1982 Ferrari 308 GTBi to have the earlier 205/70VR14 Michelin XWX. It is worth mentioning that over the years things get changed and it is worth checking that you have 390mm wheels on your car before buying these tyres. Ferrari also offered the option of fitting 16” wheels on the 308 GTBi and took advantage of the super low profile Pirelli Cinturato P7 in the sizes 205/55VR16 P7 & 225/50VR16 P7 on the rear.
History of the Ferrari 308 GTBi
The 308 GTBi and GTSi were launched in 1980 with Bosch K-Jetronic mechanical fuel injection; emissions were decreased, but power was dropped to 211 bhp on European models and 202 bhp on federalized variants. The fuel injection system was coupled to a Marelli MED 803A Digiplex electronic ignition system, which featured a coil, distributor, and ignition module for each cylinder bank.
The automobile appeared to be similar to the 308 GTB/GTS on the outside, with the addition of metric-sized wheels with a slightly different design. The clock and oil temperature gauge were relocated to the centre console, along with a new black steering wheel with three perforated spokes and new seats with a different pattern.
