History of the Morris 6
The Morris 6 MS was built between 1948-1953, sharing mostly the same body shell as the Morris Oxford but having an extended bonnet in order to fit a larger 6 cylinder engine, as well as a larger wheelbase of 110 inches. It was Morris's first six-cylinder automobile after the war. All of the new cars were of integrated chassis and body design, having independent front suspension with torsion bars. In the UK market, the automobile was initially priced at £607, but this was increased to £671 on March 1, 1949.
An automobile put through its paces by a British publication 'The Motor' In 1950,  had a maximum speed of 82.5 mph and a 0-60 mph acceleration time of 22.4 seconds. Fuel usage was measured at 20 miles per imperial gallon. The test vehicle cost £671 incl. taxes.
