1965–1968 Mercedes-Benz 200 W110 Tyres
1965 Mercedes Benz 200 W110
The Mercedes 200 and 200D were the second generation of W110, midsized cars produced between 1965 and 1968.
- In the first year or two of production Mercedes Benz 200 W110 models fitted 13" wheels and 640 - 13 tyres. In this size we can recommend the 6.40/7.00 SR 13 Michelin ZX.
- Around 1967, new Mercedes 200 and 200D cars were moved onto 14" wheels and began fitting 175 R14 tyres.
- In the 175 R14 size we recommend the 175 HR 14 Michelin XAS as the best Mercedes-Benz 200 W110 tyre.
- Some fitment guides list 195/70 R14 as an alternative size. This size is wider than 175 R14 with a lower profile.
- Our recommended 195/70 R14 Mercedes-Benz 200 tyre is the 195/70 VR 14 PIRELLI CINTURATO CN36.
1968–1976 Mercedes-Benz 200 W115
Mercedes Benz 200D W115
Between 1968 and 1976, Mercedes-Benz introduced the W115 series, which consisted of 4-cylinder front-engine, rear-drive sedans, and coupés, including the Mercedes 200 and 200D.
- The standard W115 Mercedes-Benz 200 and 200D tyre size was 175 R14, our recommended W115 tyre is the 175 HR 14 Michelin XAS.
- Our Dunlop fitment guide suggests 185 R14 as an alternative size. Although it does not appear to be the OE size, we are aware that in period and today, some people fit 185 R14 tyres.
- In this size the best Mercedes-Benz W115 200 tyre is the 185 HR 14 Michelin MXV-P.
- The size 185 R14 provides the advantage of accommodating a wide range of tyre options, including the possibility of using whitewall tyres. The 185 R 14 Michelin MXV Whitewall not only features a classic high-performance design but also comes with whitewall aesthetics.
- The 195/70 R14 size is listed in some fitment guides as an alternate size. Our recommended Mercedes 200 tyre in this size is the 195/70 VR 14 PIRELLI CINTURATO CN36.
