Volkswagen Type 4 412 Variant Estate
History of the Volkswagen Type 4
Built between 1968-1974, the Volkswagen Type 4 was a mid-sized car that came in 2-door & 4-door saloon versions and 3-door estate. The 411 was Volkswagen's largest passenger vehicle coupled with the company's largest engine, but both the 411 & 412 retained Volkswagen's signature rear-wheel drive, rear-engined air-cooled design. The 411 would run until 1972 when it was replaced with the 412 which differed in having a 1798 cc engine over 1679 cc of the 411 and twin carburettors and halogen lights.
