Austin A95 Westminster Tyres
- From ’57-’59 the Austin A95 Westminster fitted 670 - 15 crossply tyres. For a crossply we would suggest the 670 H 15 Avon Turbospeed.
- We do also offer an exceptionally good value white wall tyre in the size 6.70 x 15 General Whitewall.
- However we really suggest that a period radial 185 VR 15 PIRELLI CINTURATO CA67 would be the best Austin A95 Westminster tyre.
- For the 670 H 15 Avon Turbospeed and the 185 VR 15 PIRELLI CINTURATO CA67 tyres we would fit the Michelin 15F innertube, and for the 6.70 x 15 General Whitewall the Michelin 15/17H should be the best Austin A95 Westminster innertube.
- All crossply tyres require innertubes to function. Innertubes are not necessary for radial tyres, however, if your car has tube-type wheels an innertube must be fitted. Cars of this era all ran tube-type wheels.
- We recommend 28psi as the ideal tyre pressure for your late 50's A95 Westminster.
History of the Austin A95 Westminster
The A90 was rebranded the A95 for the autumn of 1956. The A95 was longer and now featured an estate version, in addition to increased power. Overdrive and an automatic transmission were also added, both of which were uncommon in British vehicles at the time.
