  • The Nissan Skyline 1500 Deluxe fitted 590 - 13 crossply tyres. Though we have the 5.90 x 13 Camac, we recommend switching to 165 R13 radials.
  • Our recommended 165 R13 classic tyre for the Skyline 1500 Deluxe is the 165 R13 PIRELLI CINTURATO CN36.
  • The 1965 Nissan Skyline 2000GT was fitted with 560 - 13 crossply tyres. The recommended classic radial tyre for the Skyline 2000GT is the 165 R13 PIRELLI CINTURATO CN36.
  • Export and derivative models such as the Prince Skyline 1900 were fitted with 590 - 13 (5.90 x 13 Camac) or 600 - 13 crossply tyres which are no longer produced. The recommended classic tyre for these Skylines is the 165 R13 PIRELLI CINTURATO CN36.
  • For a wider, low profile tyre than the original size, 185/70 VR 13 PIRELLI CINTURATO CN36 tyres can be fitted.

Nissan Skyline Mk3 C10 Tyres (1968–1972)


  • The Nissan Skyline 1500/1600 Deluxe fitted 560 - 13 crossply tyres. The recommended classic tyre is the 165 R13 PIRELLI CINTURATO CN36.
  • The Nissan Skyline 1800/2000 GT models were fitted with 645 - 14 crossply tyres. The best radial equivalent for this size is 185 R14.
  • The tyre Longstone recommends for these Skylines is the 185 HR 14 Michelin MXV-P.
  • The Nissan Skyline 2000 GT-R (PGC10 sedan and KPGC10 coupe, affectionately dubbed “Hakosuka”, meaning “Box Skyline”) was also fitted with 645 - 14 crossply tyres. Our recommended Skyline GT-R classic tyre is the 185 HR 14 Michelin MXV-P.
  • A low-profile alternative to 185 R14 tyres is 205/70 R14. In this size our recommended tyre is the 205/70 WR 14 PIRELLI CINTURATO CN36.

  • Base Nissan Skyline C110 models such as the 1600 and 1800 were fitted with 600 - 13 crossply or 165 R13 radial tyres. The recommended classic tyre for 4th gen base Skyline is the 165 R13 PIRELLI CINTURATO CN36.
  • The Nissan Skyline 2000 GT-R (KPGC110 “Kenmeri”) was fitted with 175 R14 radial tyres. The recommended Skyline GT-R classic tyre is the 175HR14 PIRELLI CINTURATO CA67. The 175 HR 14 Michelin XAS is also a very good tyre.
  • The Nissan Skyline 2000 GT carburettor model shared the same 175 R14 fitment. Our recommended classic tyre is again the 175HR14 PIRELLI CINTURATO CA67.
  • The Nissan Skyline 2000 GTX-E also fitted 175 R14 tyres. The tyre Longstone recommends for this model is the 175HR14 PIRELLI CINTURATO CA67.
  • For 175 R14 tyres, 195/70 R14 is the alternative size. In this size the recommended Skyline tyre is the 195/70VR14 PIRELLI CINTURATO CN36.

  • Base Nissan Skyline R30 models on 14-inch wheels were fitted with 165 R14, 175/70 R14, or 185/70 R14 tyres depending on grade. The recommended 165 R14 classic tyre is the 165 HR 14 PIRELLI CINTURATO CA67, while the best option in 185/70 R14 is the 185/70 VR 14 PIRELLI CINTURATO CN36.
  • The Nissan Skyline 2000 GT-EX was fitted with 185/70 R14 tyres, often Bridgestone. The tyre Longstone recommends for the Skyline GT-EX is the 185/70 VR 14 PIRELLI CINTURATO CN36.
  • The Nissan Skyline 2000 RS (FJ20E) (DR30, known in Japan as “Tekkamen” or “Iron Mask” for its distinctive front-end design) also fitted 185/70 R14 tyres. Our recommended Skyline 2000 RS classic tyre is the 185/70 VR 14 PIRELLI CINTURATO CN36.
  • The Nissan Skyline 2000 RS Turbo and RS-X Turbo (FJ20ET) were fitted with staggered 15-inch wheels, using 195/60 R15 at the front and 205/60 R15 at the rear. The recommended tyres for these Skylines are the 195/60 VR 15 Michelin Primacy 3 and the 205/60 WR 15 Michelin Primacy 3.

  • Base Nissan Skyline R31 with 15-inch wheels were fitted with 205/60 R15, in this size we recommend the 205/60 WR 15 Michelin Primacy 3.
  • The Nissan Skyline GTS and GXi were fitted with 195/70 R14 or 205/60 R15 tyres depending on trim. The tyre Longstone recommends in 195/70 R14 is the 195/70 VR 14 PIRELLI CINTURATO CN36, while in 205/60 R15 the recommended classic tyre is the 205/60 WR 15 Michelin Primacy 3.
  • The Nissan Skyline GTS-4 (AWD turbo) was fitted with 205/60 R15 tyres on all four wheels. Our recommended Skyline GTS-4 classic tyre is the 205/60 WR 15 Michelin Primacy 3.
  • The Nissan Skyline GTS-R homologation model was fitted with 215/55 R16 tyres. This is still a modern size with no dedicated classic tyre available.

Nissan Skyline Mk8 R32 Tyres (1989–1994)


  • The Nissan Skyline GTS (HR32) was fitted with 185/70 R14 or 195/65 R15 tyres depending on trim. In 195/65 R15 the recommended tyre is the 195/65 R 15 PIRELLI P6000 N, while in 185/70 R14 size the best classic tyre is the 185/70 VR 14 PIRELLI CINTURATO CN36.
  • The Nissan Skyline GTS25 (ER32) fitted 205/60 R15 tyres. Our recommended classic tyre in this size is the 205/60 VR 15 Michelin Pilot Exalto PE2.
  • The Nissan Skyline GTS-t (HCR32) and GTS-4 (HNR32 AWD) were fitted with 205/55 R16 tyres. The tyres Longstone recommends are the 205/55 YR 16 PIRELLI CINTURATO P7 and the 205/55 ZR 16 Michelin SX MXX3.
  • The Nissan Skyline GT-R (BNR32) (famously nicknamed “Godzilla”) was fitted with 225/50 R16 tyres. The recommended classic tyres for the Skyline GT-R are the 225/50 YR 16 PIRELLI CINTURATO P7 or the 225/50 R 16 Michelin Pilot Sport.
  • The Nissan Skyline GT-R V·Spec and V·Spec II were fitted with 17-inch wheels, using 225/50 R17 and 245/45 R17 tyres. These remain modern sizes without classic tyre coverage.

  • The Nissan Skyline GTS (HR33), GTS25 (ER33), and GTS4 (ENR33) were fitted with 205/60 R15 tyres. The recommended classic tyre in this size is the 205/60 VR 15 Michelin Pilot Exalto PE2.
  • The Nissan Skyline GTS25t (ECR33) was fitted with 205/55 R16 or 225/50 R16 tyres depending on trim and year. The tyres Longstone recommends are the 205/55 YR 16 PIRELLI CINTURATO P7 and the 225/50 YR 16 PIRELLI CINTURATO P7.
  • The Nissan Skyline GT-R (BCNR33) (often referred to as “Godzilla Returns” by the motoring press, carrying forward the R32’s legendary nickname) including the GT-R V·Spec and editions such as the N1 and LM Limited, were fitted with 245/45 R17 tyres. This remains a modern size with no classic tyre available.
  • The Nissan Skyline GT-R Autech Version 40th Anniversary (1997 four-door) shared the 245/45 R17 specification. Like the coupe, this is still considered a modern size without a recommended classic tyre.
  • The Nissan Skyline NISMO 400R was fitted with 275/35 R18 tyres. This tyre size has not yet entered the classic tyre range.

  • The ideal tube for 165 R14 tyres is the Michelin 14D.
  • For 175 R14 and 185/70 R14 tyres, the recommended innertube is the Michelin 14E.

Nissan Skyline Classic Tyres


Over the decades, several Skyline models have earned affectionate nicknames among drivers. The early GT-R (PGC10/KPGC10) became known as the “Hakosuka” or “Box Skyline”, the KPGC110 was the “Kenmeri”, the DR30 RS gained the “Iron Mask” moniker, and the R32 GT-R was famously dubbed “Godzilla” by the Australian press. This name that carried through to later generations such as the R33 (“Godzilla Returns”) and R34 GT-R.
