De Tomaso Pantera 1971–1992
- Early 1971–1972 Push button Pantera and Pantera GTS fitted 185/70 VR 15 Michelin XWX & 215/70 WR 15 Michelin XWX. These are still the best tyres for these early Pantera.
- The best Detomaso Pantera tyres (except the Pantera Wide Body) are 225/50 VR 15 PIRELLI CINTURATO P7 on the front and 285/50 VR 15 PIRELLI CINTURATO P7 Rear.
- 1972.5–1978 Pantera-L, GTS and Pantera Group 3 cars fitted 205/60 R15 PIRELLI CINTURATO CN12 (not currently made) and 255/60 WR 15 PIRELLI CINTURATO CN12 tyres on 7” front wheels and either 8” or 10” rear wheels.
- Pirelli do make the original rear tyre 255/60 R15 PIRELLI CINTURATO CN12, but the closest they get to a front is the 215/60 VR15 PIRELLI CINTURATO CN36 N, which is a little larger but also a different tread pattern.

- B.F. Goodridge makes the 205/60 SR 15 B.F.Goodrich Radial T/A and 255/60 SR 15 B.F.Goodrich Radial T/A, allowing for a matching front and rear, however they are only S speed rated (S = 112 mph), which is not suitable for the Pantera.
- Avon make 215/60VR15 Avon CR6ZZ and 245/60 VR 15 Avon CR6ZZ or 275/55 VR 15 Avon CR6ZZ. These are not a period tyres, they are slightly the wrong size, they are racing tyres, but they offer the same tread pattern front and rear.
- From 1978 till 1984 De Tomaso fitted 225/50 VR 15 PIRELLI CINTURATO P7 on 8” rims the front and 285/50 VR 15 PIRELLI CINTURATO P7 on the 10” rear as standard.
- These front 225/50 VR 15 CINTURATO P7 are also capable of fitting on the 7” rim of the earlier mid 1970s Pantera L as are the 285/50 VR 15 CINTURATO P7 is capable of being fitted on these earlier 8” wide rear wheels. Period fitment guides suggest a front tyre pressure of 32-35 PSI and a rear tyre pressure of 35-38 PSI.

- The later Pantera GT4, Pantera GT5 and the Pantera GT5-S, known as the Wide Body Pantera, had larger 10” front wheels and as wide as 13” wheels on the rear.
- These Wide Body Pantera fit 285/40 VR 15 PIRELLI CINTURATO P7 and 345/35 VR 15 PIRELLI CINTURATO P7 tyres.
- The last 38 cars, the Pantera Si fitted 235/45 R17 front tyres (this size is yet to enter the classic tyre range) and 335/35 R17 rear.

History of the De Tomaso Pantera
After the De Tomaso Deauville failed to gain popularity the company tried again with a similar design built from 1972-1989, the De Tomaso Longchamo. Based on the Mercedes Benz 450SLC the car too sadly didn't capture the public's attention. Later on after gaining control of Maserati the car would be rebadged as a De Tomaso Kyalami with a Maserati V8 engine.
