Peerless GT Two-Litre (1959–1960)

• The Peerless GT used Triumph TR3 running gear (mechanical components, engine, gearbox, suspension, brakes) and is, in many respects, essentially a TR3 with a different body.
• The Peerless GT Two-Litre was originally fitted with 550 - 15 crossply tyres on 15" wheels.
• For period-correct road use, we offer the 5.50 x 15 Excelsior.
• For regular road driving, we suggest a move to radial tyres. The closest radial size is 155 R15, and our recommended tyre is the 155HR15 PIRELLI CINTURATO CA67.
• Many classic car drivers prefer a larger radial tyre, as fitted to the later TR3A. For this application we recommend 165 R15 tyres, and the 165 HR 15 PIRELLI CINTURATO CA67, which gives slightly longer legs.
• For Peerless owners wanting to follow the later fashion of wide low-profile tyres. Though not recommended by us the 185/70VR15 PIRELLI CINTURATO CN36 N is the best option.
• The 165 SR 15 Michelin XZX is also an option at a great price. While it is a quality tyre, it is not a sports car tyre and the CA67 is far better suited.

Peerless GT Racing Tyres

• For historic racing, the Peerless GT is typically fitted with Dunlop racing tyres in the original 550 - 15 size.
• Which Dunlop racing tyre is permitted depends on the racing series rules, as different championships mandate specific constructions and tread patterns.
• Commonly accepted options include 5.50 L 15 Dunlop CR65 Racing, 5.50 M 15 Dunlop CR65 Racing, and 5.50 x 15 Dunlop R5 Racing.
• Competitors should always confirm tyre eligibility with their event organiser before purchasing.

Peerless GT Innertubes

• The Peerless GT fitted tube-type wheels that require innertubes to function.
• For 550 - 15, 155 R15 and 165 R15 tyres the Michelin 15E Offset Valve Inner Tube is the ideal innertube.
• We always recommend Michelin innertubes as they are consistently the most reliable and best-quality tubes available.
