During the 1960s, '70s, and '80s, the 155HR13 was a popular size, particularly in cars like the Ford Escort, Vauxhall Viva, and Fiat 124. Most cars of that era were equipped with 155R13 tyres. When car models that had previously used 5.60x13 crossply tyres transitioned to radial tyres, the 155HR13 size became common. In addition to Dunlop's Aquajet, other popular performance tyres in this size were the 155 HR 13 Michelin XAS FF and the 155R13 PIRELLI CINTURATO CA67, which Ford also used during that period.

What a supercool name for a tire. The Aquajet, was Dunlop’s leap in marketing their performance radial tire the Aquajet. Radial tires were a big step forward in enhancing the levels of grip offered by a tire, but Dunlop developed the Aquajet and released some fantastic marketing films of tires driving over glass demonstrating water squirting out of the sides of the treads, through the Aquajets and Dunlop got their tires fitted to a wide variety of classic tires throughout the 1970s.
