Porsche offered 16” wheels as an option from 1985 onwards on the 911 models.
Often this 225/50YR16 Cinturato P7 was the tyre of choice on the rear of 930 Turbo, 911 Carrera 2, 911 Carrera 4, 968 and 944 models, together with the 205/55 YR 16 PIRELLI CINTURATO ™ P7 N as a front tyre, which we are fortunate that Pirelli have stated to manufacture these two tyre sizes again. Pirelli’s 225/50YR16 P7 was also fitted on the front of the 944 and 928 and the 245/45 YR 16 PIRELLI CINTURATO ™ P7 N was fitted on the rear.

Pirelli Cinturato P7 Tyres
The PIRELLI CINTURATO ™ P7 debuted in 1974 as a tyre with an exceptionally low-profile design, first utilized on the Lancia Stratos during that year's World Rally Championship. Two years afterward, in 1976, Pirelli introduced the commercial road-going version to meet the growing demands posed by the increasingly powerful supercars of that era.
The introduction of the P7 represented a notable leap forward in tyre technology, substantially enhancing both stability and traction. Its innovative design allowed for a wider tread without compromising its ultra-low profile. Furthermore, the tyre incorporated sophisticated construction techniques, including a nylon zero-degree belt. Originally, the P7 was rated for V-speeds, suitable for speeds of 149 mph and above. Today's production models, such as the 225/50 YR 16 P7, possess an even higher Y-rating, making them capable of speeds reaching up to 186 mph.

Been looking for the old tread pattern Pirelli P7 for years and did not know they had started to make them again for various 70's and 80's performance cars. Great to find them again to maintain the original look.
