The Morris 1000 in period fitted a 5.20-14 Dunlop D75, The radial equivalent to a 5.20-14 crossply is 145 R 14. There are a variety of 145 R 14 tyres around, however, the Pirelli Cinturato is the only genuine period tyre. The Cinturato went into production in 1952. The carcass of the 145 R 14 Pirelli Cinturato is much better suited to the chassis of a classic car, and it is built in the knowledge that it will be fitted to relatively thin rims that were used in period. The Cinturato is also built at the top end of the specification regarding how tall a tyre can be designed in the 145 R 14 size.

145 R 14 Classic Tyres
Lancia made the wonderful Fulvia as in a variety of series and models. For the more family-oriented models of the series 1 Fulvia, we would suggest the 155R14 Michelin X. However, Lancia’s sporting models of the Series 1 Fulvia, such as the Fulvia Coupe Rally, HF, and Fulvia Sport, fitted 145 R 14 tyres for more nimble handling. The Fulvia Sport fitted 145 R 14 tyres for more agile handling. These sporting earlier models are best fitted with 145 R 14 PIRELLI CINTURATO ™ CA67 tyres.
The demand for a sporty 145 R 14 tyre is minimal these days, fortunately, Pirelli stepped up to the mark with their production of the 145 R 14 Cinturato CA67. These are currently the only 145 R 14 tyres to obtain the H speed rating that makes them suitable for sports cars, but the Cinturato also offers a tyre carcass that benefits the handling of sports cars. These characteristics are in no way derogatory to more pedestrian cars such as the Morris 1000 that also benefit from a period 145R14 tyre; it just gives nice feedback through the steering and light nimble steering.
