TVR Griffith Tyres
TVR Griffith Tyres
- The first TVR Griffith 200 of 1963 and 1964 fitted 165 R15 tyres. As did the Griffith 400 of 1964 to 1967.
- We would suggest that the 165 HR 15 PIRELLI CINTURATO CA67 is perfect for the Ford Winsor V8-engined TVR Griffith of the 1960s.
- If you want wider low-profile tyres on the Griffith 200 and Grifitth 400 then the 185/70VR15 PIRELLI CINTURATO CN36 N would be the best choice.
- However, we generally do not recommend fitting wider tyres as it can negatively impact the handling of 1960s cars that weren’t designed for so much footprint.
- The correct tube for tyres of these sizes is the Michelin 15E for the 1960s TVR Griffith.
- In 1991 TVR reintroduced the Griffith with a Rover V8 engine and continued to produce it until 2002.
- The Rover V8 powered TVR Griffith fitted 215/50 R15 tyres on the front and 225/50 R16 tyres on the rear.
- Pirelli make the 215/50 VR 15 PIRELLI P700-Z and 225/50 YR 16 PIRELLI CINTURATO P7, which is a great set-up for such a difficult car.

A: We would suggest a TVR Griffith will handle at its best on a 165 HR 15 PIRELLI CINTURATO CA67 as it will offer progressive handling. Critical with the big V8 engine.
