Pirelli P-Zero Asimmetrico
Pirelli developed the P-Zero Asimmetrico in 1986. It’s tread compounds were developed on the race track and the carcass of the P-Zero Asimmetrico is a complicated structure including Kevlar reinforcement. And of course the famous P-Zero Asimmetrico tread pattern, with an asymmetric series of different tread patterns across the foot print, performing different jobs depending where on the tread they are. 255/50 YR 16 Tyres
It is fair to say that the tyre size 255/50YR16 is not the most popular tyre size in the world. There is limited demand for it. However Pirelli have made this tyre again for fitment to the Ferrari 288 GTO, Ferrari TestaRossa & Ferrari 512TR. All these fantastic top end Ferrari fitted 255/50 - 16 on the rear and 225/50 - 16 on the rear. Pirelli now make a directional 225/50 YR 16 P-Zero for the front. This is the Pirelli P-Zero system that was used in period.
Aston Martin Vantage tyres
Worth noting that from 1987 onwards the Aston Martin V8 Vantage and the Aston Martin V8 Zagato also fitted 255/50 YR 16 tyres, for which the Pirelli 255/60YR16 P-Zero Assimetrico would be perfect.
