The fantastic PIRELLI P7 became an option on Porsche cars from 1985 in 16”. This 245/45 VR 16 CINTURATO P7 was a rear tyre on the top of the range, extremely powerful cars such as the 911 Turbo, 911 Turbo Sport, 928 S, 911 Carrera Super Sport, 911 Targa, 944 Lux, S, S2, Turbo and Turbo S models.
The 245/45 VR 16 P7 would be matched up with either the 205/55 VR 16 PIRELLI CINTURATO ™ P7 N or the 225/50 VR 16 PIRELLI CINTURATO ™ P7 N on the front.

The P7 tyre marked a significant step forward in automotive tyre innovation, delivering notable improvements in both handling stability and road grip. Its design cleverly achieved a wider contact patch without sacrificing the sleek, low-profile aesthetic.
The Pirelli P7 was technologically advanced for its time, incorporating features including a nylon zero-degree belt to enhance performance. Initially classified with a V-speed rating, it was capable of maintaining speeds exceeding 149 mph. Today, updated models like the 245/45 VR 16 P7 boast a Y-speed rating, supporting safe high-speed performance up to 186 mph. The original V speed rating can be seen on the sidewall for historical authenticity.
