A Wheel and Whitewall Tyre for the Fiat 500
- The original tyre for a Fiat 500 was a crossply tyre. Cross ply tyres are less suited to modern roads. The later Fiat 500 fitted 125SR12 Pirelli Cinturato CN54 radial tyres. These 125SR12 CN54 tyres can be fitted to all the models of Classic Fiat 500.
- Original Fiat 500 wheels are a 3.5”X12” rim. These early thin wheel rims were made before the development of the safety bead that was designed so wheels could be run without inner tubes. As a result the safest thing to do with these standard rims is to fit an inner tube.
- These Fiat 500 white wall tyre on wheel set ups are a standard Fiat 500 wheel fitted in house by Longstone Classic Tyres with a Michelin inner tube, inside a genuine 125SR12 CINTURATO CN54 Whitewall.

Maintaining White Wall or White Letter Tyres
Whitewall or raised white letters tyres will need continual maintenance; they are not a fit and forget item. You will need to keep the tyres clean, usually just with hot soapy water.
NEVER USE tyre shine products on Whitewall or RWL letters, many of these products have enhancers for black tyres that will discolour the white rubber permanently.
