205/70 WR15 Tyres

The jaguar driving fraternity are fortunate in that Pirelli have re-introduced the 205/70 WR15 P5 with a W speed rating. This P5 tyre is the tyre that Jaguar requested was designed by Pirelli to complement their luxury cars in the 1970s and through the 1980s. the first size of which was the 205/70 WR15 low profile radial tyre.

205/70 WR15 Jaguar Tyres

The Jaguar, and of course Daimler XJ6, XJS 6 cylinder models and the early V12’s all fitted 205/70 WR15 tyres. However the later V12 cars fitted 215/70 WR 15 Pirelli P5 and the XJ40 fitted 225/65 WR 15 P5. The series 3 E Type Jaguar, with it’s power steering works beautifully on this 205/70 WR15 Pirelli P5.

Worth noting that although the later V12 Jaguar XKE also fitted tyres of the size 205/70 WR15, the earlier 6 cylinder cars do handle better with 185VR15 Pirelli Cinturato tyres. If you really want a wider tyre to fill the wheel arches of the earlier Jaguar e-type the chassis is more suited to the earlier 205/70 WR15 Pirelli Cinturato CN12 tyres.
