From the 1960’s through the 1970s and into the 1980s 13” wheels were common place. Many models of classic cars like the Ford Cortina would start out fitting a crossply tyre 5.60-13, then move onto the radial tyre size 165R13, and then the upgraded top of the range Ghia models would end up fitting fancy low profile tyres 185/70 R13 and alloy wheels. Then by the end of the Cortina Model in 1982 the Cortina Crusader would be fitting 185/70 R13 tyres as standard equipment, and the 185/70 R13 Pirelli Cinturato CN36 would be the tyre of choice for the sporty driver.
185/70 R13 Tyres
185/70 R13 tyres were fitted to a wide range of Ford cars as well as the Cortina they fitted the Capri, Escort and right through to early Ford Sierra. Jensen fitted 185/70 R13 tyres to the Jensen Healey, Lancia to the Monte Carlo, Opel to the Manta and Ascona, and other a different name Vauxhall fitted 185/70 R13 tyres to the VX4, Chevette and Cavalier. Alpina fitted the 185/70 R13 Pirelli Cintarato CN36 to their version of the BMW 2002tii and BMW fitted them to their early series 3 cars.

Great road feel. I was running the much more expensive Michelin XDX's, which were not as good in cornering as the Pirelli's. The Michelin's got hard after 5-years and I had to replace them before the tread was worn out. Well, on the fronts, anyway... Quiet at highway speeds, too.

I've never been fully satisfied with the handling of my ** BMW ** turbo since I bought the car 10 years ago. I recently refurbished the standard steel wheels and fitted these fab ** Pirellis, handling now nailed. Its a proper car now. They look great too.

Great retro inspired tires for my *** Bmw *** They ride great, handle and track very well and wet performance is better than expected. Price is better than others in this catagory. Very pleased.
