Classic Car Wheel Balancing
At Longstone through practice and an understanding of the way many of these unusual wheels are mounted on our Classic and vintage cars, we have carried on spoked wheel balancing skills that could otherwise have been forgotten. The most useful would probably be the ability to balance Rudge Whitworth knock on wire wheels for you vintage or classic car. Please pop by and take advantage of this classic wheel balancing service.

Classic Tyre Fitting FAQ
The fitting costs change, we have a table further up this page explaining our tyre fitting and balancing charges.
If you come and see us in your classic car, removing the wheels from your car removing and fitting tyres, then balancing your wheels takes approximately 1.5 hrs to do all 4 or 5 wheels. However, if you simply turn up with 4 new wheels we can fit tyres and balance them in about half an hour.
You don’t have to book to get your classic tyres fitted, however it does make it easier for us, and it will mean you won’t have to queue, which might be the case if you turn up when we already have some one in.
Yes we specialise in balancing unusual classic car wheels and balancing wire wheels with Rudge Whitworth wheel centres. There are some wheels we cannot balance. Wheel balancing is unnecessary on vintage cars that do less than 60mph.
