The tyre size 450X19 is very popular among European sports cars such as MG, BNC, Riley, Frazer Nash & Bull Nose Morris of the 20's and 30's. The 450X19 Dunlop B5 is actually the tyre that was fitted to the immediately post war MG. Cars such as the MG TC left the factory fitted with the 450X19 B5 Dunlop. The carcase of the Dunlop 450X19 is excellent and progressive and ideally suited to a Sports car. This was the 450X19 tyre that Longstone Tyres chose to fit to it's family Frazer Nash for road use, until we developed our own brand 400/ 450X19 Longstone tyre as this tyre has a tread pattern more suited to 20's cars. However the 450X19 Dunlop B5 is still one of the best tyres in this size.

450X19 Tyres

The size 450X19 would also be an alternative cross-ply tyre to the beaded edge tyre 710X90. Also cars of the 20's that might fit 450X19 tyres may well have 27X4.40 designated as OE (this basically means 27" overall diameter 4.4" width and height of the tyre section) 450X19 is the modern description for the 27X4.40 tyre size. being a 19" wheel with a tyre section 4.5" in height and width.
