Michelin X Tyres

The first major Michelin innovation, the radial ply tyre was marketed under the name "Michelin Radial X" in 1949. The Michelin X was the first radial tyre ever built, and was developed during the second world war.

The Michelin X tyre range has been around for over 70 years and now includes summer, winter, and all-season tyres as well as tyres designed for specific vehicles and driving conditions, with whitewall options available for the fashion conscious driver.

One of the key features of the Michelin X tyre is its advanced tread pattern, which is designed to deliver excellent grip and handling in all weather conditions. The tread pattern includes multiple sipes and grooves that help to channel water away from the tyre, providing improved wet-weather performance and reducing the risk of hydroplaning.

The durable construction and high-quality modern materials used in its manufacturing process ensure that this tyre can withstand the toughest of conditions and provide you with optimal performance. Additionally, its reinforced sidewalls help to resist punctures and damage, giving you peace of mind while driving.

The performance advantage of the X tyre in the 1950s was such that many racing drivers adopted them despite the fact that Michelin was not an official partner of any race series at the time.

The 135 R 400 Michelin X has a load index of 73, meaning each tyre can withstand up to 365 kgs. or 1460 kgs. in total car weight, and a speed rating of S, allowing speeds up to 112mph.

This is a tire well known to me from 40+ years ago. I had Michelin XAS on my '70 Datsun 510, a superb tire. When my mechanic recommended these for my '69 Citroen DS as well as your company as a source, I immediately ordered a set of 5 plus the Michelin tubes. The shipping was quite prompt!

My new wire wheels are tubeless type and I thought the XAS tyres would be too. Have now purchased tubes from you.

They look a very good tyre and I'm happy with the information that Dougal has talked about on the Link and what I have read about these Tyres myself
