1969-1970 Renault 10

1969-1970 Renault 10

Renault R10 Tyres

  • The Renault R10 (sometimes known as Renault 1100) originally came with 145-380 crossply tyres as standard.
  • Our recommended crossply is the 145 - 15 Firestone F560.
  • The best radial tyre available in this size is the 145 SR 15 Michelin XZX.
  • Tyres in the 155/R15 size could also be fitted, being only 1.1% narrower in diameter than the 145-380's. In this case we would suggest fitting the 155 HR 15 PIRELLI CINTURATO CA67, or the 155 HR 15 Michelin XAS FF.
  • The R10 fitted tube-type wheels throughout production, innertubes are required for these wheels, even if you fit a tubeless radial tyre.
  • For all these tyres we the Michelin 15E is the ideal innertube.

History of the Renault 10

The Renault 10 Major (branded as the Renault 1100 in various regions) was introduced in September 1965, replacing the Renault 8 Major. The Renault 8 was stretched, with an expanded front overhang and a substantially larger front baggage compartment, with a capacity increase from 240 to 315 litres. The size of the central passenger compartment, on the other hand, remained constant. The 1,108 cc engine, which had previously featured in top-of-the-line Renault 8 models in several areas, was derived from the Renault Caravelle. In France, the Renault 10 struggled to compete with the popular Peugeot 204, which was released the same year.
