The classic Alfa Romeo Montreal featured a V8, which was very similar to the one found in the Alfa Romeo Type 33, boasting a top speed of 130mph. The chassis was from the classic Alfa Romeo 1750. The Alfa Romeo Montreal also had a 5-speed gearbox and ventilated disc brakes, which it needed to stop the roaring V8.
The Alfa Romeo Montreal is very important in the history of classic Alfa Romeo's, as it is the only post-war car equipped with a V8 that was almost exclusive to competition. There were only 3,917 Alfa Romeo Montreal's produced between 1971 and 1975, and amazingly, this classic Alfa Romeo was never exported to the United States.
