AC Ace Bristol

AC Ace Bristol 1956–1961

  • We recommend the 5.50 R 16 Michelin X vintage tyre, as it was the original equipment AC Ace Bristol tyre and the finest radial tyre in this size.
  • The AC Ace Bristol innertube we suggest is the Michelin 16E, cars with wire wheels must have innertubes fitted.
  • The ideal AC Ace Bristol tyre pressure is 28psi in the front and 33psi in the rear.

History of the AC Ace-Bristol

Built 1956-1962, the AC Ace-Bristol was AC's answer to complaints that the standard AC Ace was lacking in power. To achieve this they brought in Bristol's straight six-cylinder engine as well as their more robust gearbox. Bristol Cars' two-litre 120 horsepower straight-six with three downdraught carburettors and a fast four-speed transmission was available from 1956. With 0–60 mph in the nine-second range, top speed increased to 116 mph.
