Classic Traction Avant Citroen Tyres

It is worth pointing out that for some considerable time Michelin were the major shareholders in the Citroen, which shows in the tyres Citroen have fitted since the '30s. Michelin has been a major innovator in tyre design over the years, and much of this has come to market in conjunction with Citroens innovative car design. It is because of this innovative design that has meant classic Citroens are still very collectable classic cars, and it is because of this popularity has meant the volumes of Classic Citroen tyre sales have been good so we are able to make these special offers on sets of tyres for your Classic Citroen.

Citroen Traction Avant Tyres

When the Traction first came out before the war crossply tyres were still the only option. But with Michelin and Citroen being as out and out French as they were, they couldn't bare the thought of doing the line with the rest of the world and ...

Maserati Ghibli Tyres

I'm hoping you might be able to help me out with some anorak work, I'm wanting to clarify a date that i can't find in my reference books.

I think that the Ghibli was made from 1966 to 1973. Ruote Borrani make a selection of wheels mostly 6.5X15 & 7X15 (and they also do 7.5" but i think that mighty be a bit more "special build")...

185/70 R 13 Tyres

This week's excitement was Car SOS (now nicknamed car Sausage) had a Sunbeam Alpine series 1 in for restoration. Early Alpines left the factory with 560X13 crossply tyres which are not currently produced as a sports car tyre. We only ever sell the 560X13 Camac, but it's not a sports car tyre.

Because the road's we drive on these days are very different to what they were in the '60s, we drive on so many more dual carriage ways these days, people predominantly choose to drive on a radial tyre. The radial equivalent to a 560X13 is either 155R13 or 165R13. I would suggest that the best tyres in these sizes currently are from the Michelin XAS range. These fantastic early asymmetric tyres dramatically improve the directional stability of a classic car. I have had them on several cars. My Daimler V8, Ford Cortina and now my Silver Shadow...

Classic Alfa Tyres

Currently the availability of Classic Alfa tyres is exceptional and as good as it ever has been.

When the Alfa 1900 first came out in 1950, the 165SR400 Michelin X tyre was in production however the likelihood is that the 1900 fitted crossply tyres 130/140X40 Michelin SCSS. Both of these tyres are still in production with Michelin where of course the quality is never in doubt...
